TOM: For the new year, the hottest colors in floors is gray. Especially gray tiles designed to look like wood.
LESLIE: Also ahead, traditional hardwood is going over to the dark side with gray, dark brown and even black stains gaining popularity.
TOM: And this year’s bold flooring choices aren’t limited to color. Exotic woods like Brazilian walnut and eco-friendly bamboo are on the rise, becoming available in more and more colors and styles, including wider planks that mimic the look of traditional hardwood, but deliver the durability of bamboo.
LESLIE: And if you prefer the warmth of carpet, new technology has made carpet fibers softer than ever, with patterned carpets trending over traditional solids and blends. I’m Leslie Segrete.
