New Year’s Resolution Design Trends

LESLIE: And I’m Leslie Segrete with today’s Money Pit Home Improvement Minute. According to Zillow Digs, the top home design trends for 2016 include art deco inspired patterns, wool rugs, artisan accents, and ancostic tiles.
TOM: These ancostic tiles are intricately patterned and get their coloring from different types of clay or minerals rather than glaze. For even more home accents, flea market finds, travel souvenirs and locally made artisan pieces are expected to take center stage.
LESLIE: Art Deco is also making a bold new comeback. So look for the style’s trademark geometric patterns and honeycomb shapes in everything from wallpaper to artwork. And natural fibers like knobby wool will be the go to texture, especially for area rugs. I’m Leslie Segrete.
