We have hardwood in our living room and one wall ( a load bearing wall) has sloped and caused uneven floor problems. It is mostly noticeable in the living room. The house was built in the 80s and we have had it looked at by house leveling companies or structural engineers (not sure exactly what else to call them).
Different companies have basically come up with the measurement that it is a little more than 2 inches sloped down along a wall and the deepest slope being in a corner. It is noticeable for sure. They all believe we should jack it up. We are not so sure about that. They also can not believe that our walls have no cracks. They do think that it settled shortly after being built. It is not going anywhere at all that we can notice.
We are concerned what we should do because of possibly selling the house in the future. Do we fix it? Is there something else we can do? How do we explain it in a sellers disclosure if we sell the house? Thanks so much for any advice you can give us.
