We are remodelling our laundry room which is also our guest l/2 bath. Is laminate wood flooring “safe” under a washing maching? Or is ceramic tile better. Expense is an issue. Thanks
Our Answer
Laminate floor is a good choice for a laundry or a bath, and can even be installed over a ceramic floor if that is already down. Laminate floor will be both easier to install and less expensive than ceramic tile. In either event, be sure to install an overflow pan under the washing machine to protect the floor from floods if the washer were to leak.
