TOM: Planning to sell your home? Stage it like a pro for a quick sale at top dollar. Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.
LESLIE: And I’m Leslie Segrete with today’s Money Pit Home Improvement Minute.
TOM: Start at the street. If you can’t replace your front door, repaint it, or at least update the hardware. Make sure your lawn looks great and keep trash cans and bikes hidden.
LESLIE: And what’s the first thing visitors see beyond your front door? Your entryway. So don’t just organize your coats, shoes, and keys, use smart storage techniques to get them out of sight.
TOM: All throughout your home, keep shelves and cabinets one-third to one-half empty for a cleaner look and the impression that there’s room to grow.
LESLIE: And finally, make sure rooms show their intended purpose. A spare bedroom may have worked great for yoga, but when you’re showing the house to potential buyers replace those mats and mirrors with a bed and a dresser. I’m Leslie Segrete.
