TOM: The biggest mistake home owners make with landscaping is not having a clearly defined plan. For the best results, approach your project like a pro and consider what the space will be used for and by whom.
LESLIE: Then prioritize your wish list weighing needs against what you’d like to have. And also, be honest about how much time you’re willing to spend on maintenance, because even the best landscape plan will fail if you can’t put in the upkeep time and effort required.
TOM: Also consider the budget, which should include both your initial landscape investments and ongoing maintenance.
LESLIE: And make sure your landscape plan includes the practical, like locations of water and power lines, drainage patterns and the view you’re going to see from indoors. I’m Leslie Segrete.
