I recently installed a slate kitchen backsplash. To protect it and keep it clean, should I use the countertop sealer sold in home centers? Or could a light coat of polyurethane do the trick?
Our Answer
I recommend sticking with the backsplash sealer sold in stores. It’s more likely to stand up to the specific types of abuse that kitchen backsplashes endure, like grease and cleaning fluids. Polyurethane, on the other hand, is not designed for masonry.
