LESLIE: And I’m Leslie Segrete with today’s Money Pit home improvement minute. Make the most of an early spring afternoon by taking steps to care and clean your windows.
TOM: Start by carefully dismantling storm windows. Then clean and store them upright with a protective cushioning cover. Next, remove the screens and place them on a driveway or other flat surface. Clean both sides with a mild soap-and-water mixture and a soft bristle brush.
LESLIE: Last, brighten up exterior windows by cleaning the glass with a mixture of two tablespoons of white vinegar to a pint of water. Apply the mixture to the windows with a spray bottle. Then wipe the windows clean and streak-free using old newspaper instead of costly paper towels. That’s how we should be preparing windows for spring. I’m Leslie Segrete.
