TOM: An organized home office helps you handle both routine tasks and big events like tax time. Start by adding a secure back-up system for your digital files, either in the cloud or with an external hard drive.
LESLIE: Then tackle the paper that’s either piled up or busting out of files. Organize the items that you’ll need for taxes. Digitize other important documents. Shred old records to protect against identity theft.
TOM: Clear the clutter from all office surfaces and set up easy systems for handling the incoming paperwork. And consider whether this is the year for you to finally switch to online banking and bill pay.
