TOM: While you’re indoors all winter long why not brighten up your life with better living area lighting? Hi, I’m Tom Kraeutler.

TOM: Don’t underestimate the power of good lighting, especially during the season’s shorter days. In your living area, create a light scape that lights up tasks and highlights the room’s best features.
LESLIE: LED bulbs provide plenty of light for just pennies and come in different color temperatures to help you set the mood. You can choose daylight style bulbs for bright true-to-life light or go with soft white bulbs for a warmer setting.
TOM: Arrange fixtures near furnishings to provide plenty of light for reading and visiting and use overhead lighting to fill in and enlarge the space.
LESLIE: You can also add dimmers to control lighting effects and occupancy sensors to lower your energy use. I’m Leslie Segrete.
