What's the best exterior caulk for windows on a house with cedar siding? My windows face south, which is where most of our extreme temperatures come from.
Our Answer
Silicone caulk is probably the most durable, but also the hardest to use. Go with that, or with a very high-quality acrylic latex caulk. Both take a steady hand. The nice thing about acrylic, though, is that if you mess up, you can clean it up with water. This is much harder to do with silicone. With either type, make sure to cut the tip of the caulking gun at a slight angle, as opposed to a straight line.
