Imagine leaving a window open all winter long – the heat loss, cold drafts and wasted energy! If your home has a folding attic stair, that may be just what is happening in your home every single day. But there is something you can do about it.
PINKCap® Attic Stair Insulator from Owens Corning is designed to reduce heat loss from an attic ladder access opening. It is fully assembled and easy to install without any tools. This lightweight product fits through the attic opening from below and slides into place to cover the opening and encase the retractable ladder. No more heat loss or wasted energy. For more ways to save, checkout the Homeowner’s Guide to Insulating.

If you ever locate a reasonably inexpensive attic stairway hatch cover that actually fits most folding attic stairs in the U.S., please let us know. The Owens Corning product featured in this most recent advertisement-barely-disguised-as-information is approximately half the size needed. One wonders if there is any area of the country where folding attic stair hatches are so tiny; no place I’ve ever seen. Actual standard dimensions are closer to 22-24″x54″ long.
