I have indoor outdoor carpet in a room that has been down for 20 years or more. When trying to remove it the top came up but the black sticky bottom stayed on the floor. We are now having a tough time getting it up. Any suggestions on how to make it easier?

I’ve never found an “easy” solution. Usually buying or renting a manual floor scraper is the easiest way to get it off. You can try Goof Off, which is a good adhesive remover but you’d need lots of it. If you can’t get it 100% clean, get the “chunks” off and them add a layer of 1/4 inch luan plywood to create a clean surface.
