TOM: From their messes to their foot traffic, dogs can wreak havoc on lawns and gardens. Instead of fighting a losing battle, why not install a stone walkway over the path your pup runs? He can still travel where he wants, and you can enjoy the walkway’s natural charm.
LESLIE: Or you can switch to hardscaping in part of your yard, and confine your pet to that space with a traditional fence or an even an invisible electric version. Stone and masonry are easy to clean and they can keep your dog from digging holes and then dragging the dirt inside.
TOM: Or make your lawn more resilient by switching to Bermuda grass or Kentucky Bluegrass. And clover is another great option for filling in those bare spots that pups leave behind. I’m Tom Kraeutler.
