Dust can trigger asthma and allergies, so it’s important to reduce the recurrence of dust in your home through thorough cleaning.
Dust can come from several sources and is hard to get rid of completely. If dust collects on your home’s surfaces faster than you can keep up with it, that could be a sign that it’s time to change a dirty furnace or air conditioner filter or vacuum cleaner bag.
Dust can also be introduced into your home through air leaks in ducts, or air infiltration through leaky doors and windows, and increase the need for dust cleaning.
To cut down on dust, make sure you change or clean your furnace and air conditioner filters once a month.
Consider leaving your shoes at the door so you don’t track in outdoor debris, which can be the biggest source of dust in your house. Sealing air leaks can also help reduce air infiltration that could be a source of dust.
