Cracks in Bathtub Surface

What can I do to repair spider vein-looking cracks around my ceramic bathtub drain?  And what's causing them?

Thanks for your help.

Tiny cracks around your drain mean the tub's finish, or glaze, is breaking down.  You have a few options: 1) Replace the entire tub, which is major renovation.  2) Reglaze the tub, which could be either a DIY project or one done professionally.  Unfortunately, this isn't a long-term solution.  Or, option 3) Install a tub insert.   Bath Fitter makes an insert that drops into existing tubs and relines the entire surface.  And then there's always option #4: Learn to live with it!  Who looks at tub train anyways?
