Reiker Room Conditioner
LESLIE: Now we’re going to go to Oregon with Ross.
What can we do for you?
ROSS: I was looking to find out more about the Reiker heating fans.
LESLIE: Ah, the most wonderful product in the world. Tom’s a big fan.
TOM: Absolutely. I am a fan of the fan. How can we help you with it?
ROSS: Basically, what I have, I’ve got a bedroom that’s back down a hallway and my heating doesn’t work that well in there. And I have a hanging fan in there. It’s a vaulted ceiling.
ROSS: And I have – it probably drops down two feet and I thought this might work but I tried to get my Lowe’s to give me information and I wasn’t able to get that much. So …
TOM: Well I’ll tell you, the Reiker room conditioner is a wonderful product. It is a fan but it also heats. Their website is HeatingFans.com and if you contact them directly – I’ll give you the phone number; it’s 866-473-4537 – they will make sure that they get you a dealer that has a Reiker room conditioner.
I have a kitchen that does not heat or cool well because it’s sort of stuck on the side of my house. It was a very, very old addition and it’s surrounded by exterior walls, so it tends to overheat in the summer and get extra cold in the wintertime, so it’s a tough room. And I found this to be a perfect solution because when I have it on in the heating cycle, it just basically maintains the room at a very, very even temperature. And it’s a pretty fan, it’s good-looking, and I highly recommend it.
It’s a great invention. We’ve interviewed Ken Reiker, the inventor of this product, on this show. Really interesting individual; really, really neat product. They’re doing very well across the country. A lot of people are interested in them. I know that they are just starting to roll out in the Lowe’s stores across the country. Apologize that you couldn’t find one there but I’m sure if you call the Reiker people, they will hook you up. Again, that number is 866-473-4537. Or you can go to their website which is HeatingFans.com.
LESLIE: And they’re great because they’re economic, they don’t cost a lot to heat. What is it? It’s 5 cents per hour, did they say?
TOM: Yeah, something – 5 cents an hour is all it costs to use a Reiker air conditioner.
LESLIE: And they’re stylish and they’re beautiful and it really will help you with your heating problems in that room.
ROSS: So basically I could use it as a retrofit; just replace the fan I have in there.
ROSS: That’s what I’m looking for.
LESLIE: Enjoy it.
ROSS: OK, thank you very much.
TOM: You’re welcome, Ross. Thanks so much for calling us at 1-888-MONEY-PIT.
