Nylon Screen Repair
LESLIE: Cindy in Nebraska needs some help with screen damage. Tell us what happened.CINDY: Recently, we had a hailstorm and we have nylon screens that are about 13 years old. And I would like to know how difficult it is to repair those screens or whether it would be more cost effective to replace them.TOM: Nylon screens tend to deteriorate with exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Unless they’re fairly new, they’re generally not worth repairing. What I would rather you do is take the screens to a local hardware store and have them replaced. It’s a fairly simple process; not that difficult to do; not terribly expensive and it’ll look a lot better.CINDY: Alrighty. Thank you.TOM: You’re welcome, Cindy. Thanks so much for calling us at 888-MONEY-PIT.
