TOM: Hey, it’s Tom Kraeutler, here in New York City at the Money Pit studios and we’re talking about green trends and home improvement. Now, imagine a kitchen faucet that senses what you’re trying to accomplish and, without a touch, immediately responds to your needs. This is the Moen Brantford Pulldown Kitchen Faucet and it can do just that thanks to Moen’s MotionSense technology.

Let me show you how this works. First of all, there’s two sensors. One’s the ready sensor at the front. If I want to use it, I simply bring a cup or a pitcher up to it and the water comes on. When I’m done, I pull it away and the water stops. This is going to save a lot of water.

Now, there’s another sensor at the top called a wave sensor. Let me tell you why this is important. Let’s say you’re preparing food, maybe you’re cutting chicken or meat, and you tend to get bacteria on your hands while you’re doing that. You put it in the pot; you bring it over to the faucet, and what’s the first thing you do? You grab the handle. If you do that you can contaminate the handle and the next person will get that bacteria on them. This is safer, all you do is walk up with your pot, place it under the faucet, then your wave your hand across the top, the water comes on and when the pot’s full, you wave it again, the water goes off. That’s a lot safer for you, plus it saves water as well.

Now, there’s a manual handle on the side that adjusts the temperature and the flow. Now the Brantford Pulldown Kitchen Faucet has traditional styling which will match any décor. It comes in chrome, oil-rubbed bronze and new, spot-resistant stainless finish which resists fingerprints and water spots. It’s backed by a five-year warranty for all the electronics plus a limited lifetime warranty for all finishes and mechanical components.
