Dry Solution For Avoiding Rot

To keep rot away, make sure all plumbing fixtures are properly caulked and sealed, and keep an eye out for water staining, leaking, and mildew in the bathroom, under sinks, and in the attic. If you have a raised foundation, check under the house periodically for leaks and moisture, and use a plastic vapor barrier on the crawlspace floor to slow soil dampness from getting into your home.
