Tip of the Day

All Extinguishers Not Equal

Buying a fire extinguisher for your home is a good idea, but you’ve got to know what type to buy.  They’re marked A B C or D.  Fire extinguishers are marked with the letters A B C, indicating the type of fire they can put out: "A" – is ordinary fuels like wood, or cloth.  "B" is for flammable liquids and "C" is electrical fires.  For the best protection, purchase a multi-purpose extinguisher with a "BC" or "ABC" rating for typical home use, and check its pressure regularly.
