Talkers’ editorial board selects the group it dubs the “Heavy Hundred” each year from over 4000 talk show hosts across the USA. Criteria include ratings, uniqueness, industry recognition, recognition by other media, effort and talent. Kraeutler and Segrete join such distinguished radio hosts as Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, Howard Stern, Don Imus, Bill O’Reilly, Dr. Joy Browne, Jim Bohannon, Alan Colmes and Doug Stephan on the “Heavy Hundred” list. Michael Harrison, Editor and Publisher of Talkers Magazine, notes the program has done well in an increasingly competitive radio landscape. "The Money Pit continues to excel not only as the leading program in its field, but as a prime example of just how successful a specialty show within the talk genre can be. This is undoubtedly a talk media team to watch.” The Money Pit stands out among home improvement media. While home improvement television shows have proliferated in the last decade, home improvement radio has proved much tougher to crack. However, in the past year, The Money Pit added over 35 new affiliates and is now heard on 123 radio stations nationwide. In addition, the show is the only home improvement program to be carried by both XM and Sirius satellite radio networks. Kraeutler and Segrete are seasoned media pros whose expertise often extends beyond radio. Segrete is a popular cast member on TLC’s “While You Were Out,” which is in its third season and has filmed more than 125 episodes with her. Kraeutler is an accomplished author and frequent contributor to CNN. They both write for House Beautiful and do! Magazine. |
