Your show had a Q and A on 15 year old water heaters.
I had one two that burst at 25 years. Without a drain pan installed,
the water went on to concrete pad and leaked into bedroom - so
Insurance paid the 2000 in damages.
Puzzle is that my house in a tract of 200 same year built homes.
Seems mine was not the first water heater to blow out bottom -
but no plummer (nor home owner) warned neighbors or adjacent
homes of known high risk.
The plumber could have replaced 200 water heaters probably if
biz needed the work. Or every house in tract had same heaters.
And far worse is the insurance companies who process such
claims not telling customers to check water heater at 15 year
point - or send out a cancellation notice if not get confirmation?
Even the city could send out reminders to check such stuff to
the known old housing tracts.... generate some biz and taxes......
