I am having a similar problem with my new American Standard fiberglass tub: black film develops every time I bathe or shower, even after it is just cleaned.

I also have new laminate flooring, and am wondering if there could be a film on the floor that gets on my feet and reacts with the tub to cause the film?

Did Giuseppe try the marine cleaner, and was it successful? Does it really prevent film from developing in addition to just cleaning it (which I have to do almost every day now)?

I doubt that the laminate floor has anything to do with the film you are seeing on your tub.  We haven't heard back from Giuseppe yet, but we would also suggest trying the same method - the fiberglass boat cleaner.  One brand we like is called Dolphinite and it's not that expensive.  Let us know how it works out and thanks for listening!
