I am trying to sell my home and I am having trouble with the quantity of water from my well. I order to pass mortgage requirements the well must produce 3 gallons per minute for 2 hours. My well only pumped water for 1 1/4 hours.
I have a 1/2 horsepower above ground pump and the well is 140 feet deep. After a 1 1/4 the well stopped putting out water, but the pump did not lose its ''PRIME''. I am guessing that the well was not dry but the 1/2 horsepower motor was not able to pull up the water as the water table was going down.
How deep should a 1/2 horsepower motor be able to draw up water??? Do I need a more powerful pump, or deeper well?
