The French Eclectic home style features a combination of French architectural styles, including tall, steeply pitched, hipped or gabled roofs, and vertically oriented windows with grilles. French Eclectic style is not one style, but a range of styles inspired by French architecture that found their way to America via soldiers returning from World War I. Although its roots are in the south of France, French Eclectic is a very American interpretation of the French domestic vernacular.
