The American Farmhouse home style is influenced by Colonial and Victorian styles. It features tall, narrow double-hung windows, bay windows and window groupings, and 2-over-2 grille patterns. While this style evolved from New England Colonial houses, it is often associated with the Midwest, where it was popular when that region was being settled. Often, this home style was fairly basic, but when stylistic elements were added, they tended to be borrowed from the Victorian style.
