If you fancy yourself as the next Gordon Ramsey and you’re looking to design a new kitchen, then there are certain features that you can add to the room to give the look of a professional set-up.

Obviously you would not want a kitchen that looks like it has come straight out of Claridge’s as this would look too cold for a home kitchen. However, taking some elements of the professional kitchen design and dotting your own kitchen with them can give a great look.

Stainless steel countertops can be seen in many modern style kitchens and for good reason. This material is extremely durable and very easy to clean, making it perfect for chopping and dicing meat and vegetables. Unfortunately, this quality material does come at a price and these countertops can be very expensive.

A kitchen island can be an excellent feature for the aspiring chefs amongst you. They can be the perfect place at which to prepare food, as well as great place to sit, if accompanied by a number of high chairs.

Not only is this practical, but it will look great and is a good way to have a stainless steel surface in the room without having to splash the cash on all new kitchen units around the room.

A kitchen island can also have hobs installed on the worktop, which means it can be a place for you to cook for friends and family whilst they sit around the feature.

One of the greatest tools chefs have are their knives and making sure these are not cluttering up your work surfaces is important. By investing in some practical magnetic wall racks you can have your knives close to hand as well as showing them off to all your friends.
