The A-Team’s Mr. T is set to star in a new show on DIY Network, where he’ll demolish outdated houses to make room for remodels.
Actor and professional wrestler Mr. T is well known for his tough-guy persona and his distinctive mohawk hairstyle (which was inspired by a National Geographic photograph of a Mandinka warrior). But Mr. T worked in the demolition business before coming to show business, and now he will be united with both in his own home-improvement show.
“In I Pity the Tool, nothing gets in Mr. T’s way.”
The title of the series, I Pity the Tool, is clearly a spin on Mr. T’s catchphrase, “I pity the fool,” a line he first spoke in the Rocky III movie. But the plans for the renovation show are serious.
In each episode, Mr. T and his team, including HGTV Design Star winner Tiffany Brooks, will work together to give a family the home makeover of their dreams.
“In I Pity the Tool, nothing gets in Mr. T’s way,” says a DIY Network press release. “Outdated houses are no match for him, his arsenal of tools and his construction team of tough guys.”
Mr. T is not the first celebrity to star on DIY Network. Other big-name series on the channel include Vanilla Ice’s The Vanilla Ice Project and William Shatner’s The Shatner Project.
I Pity the Tool is set to debut late this year.
