New Sand Specifically Designed for Stones

Paving Your Patio is Easier

This week’s question comes to us from Catharine in Baltimore: “Leslie, I was watching your new program, Ugliest House on The Block, last weekend while waiting for a table at a local restaurant.  There was a man putting in a brick patio/driveway and he put a powered mix on the stones and swept it into the gaps.  Then he used a hose to wet it. What was that product called? I would love to get some but I can’t remember what it was. Any help would be great!”

Catharine, we normally use just plain sand to fill the gaps between paver stones.  But there is a fantastic new product out from Quikrete that works even better than sand.  It’s called PowerLoc™ Jointing Sand.  It is a polymer-modified, graded sand specially designed for sweeping into paving stone joints.  You can use it on interlocking pavers, bricks, patio blocks and concrete slabs.  The non-staining sand hardens to lock pavers in place.  You’ll have a stable surface that is resistant to erosion, weeds and insects. Visit www.Quikrete.com for more info.  Thanks for watching and listening!
